CEF Steam Lab

STEAM Lab equipment and materials at Cranbury School

Thanks to the continued success and strong average net profits from the Cranbury Craft Show over the past several years, the Cranbury Education Foundation (CEF) proudly funded the creation of a brand-new, fully equipped STEAM Lab at The Cranbury School in 2025.

This transformative learning space represents a significant step forward in our mission to support innovation and excellence in education. The lab is thoughtfully designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and collaboration through hands-on learning experiences that integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics.

At the heart of the new CEF STEAM Lab Cranbury are two cutting-edge systems that reflect real-world sustainability and innovation: an advanced aquaponics system, where fish and plants grow together in a symbiotic environment, and a hydroponics setup, which allows students to explore soil-less agriculture and plant biology. These features are not just exciting—they provide powerful learning opportunities related to ecosystems, environmental science, and food sustainability.

In addition to these systems, the lab includes a range of flexible workstations, project areas, and tech-enhanced tools that make it possible for students to prototype, build, test, and refine their ideas in a dynamic, collaborative setting.

We are incredibly proud to share that more than $60,000 was raised to bring this impactful initiative to life. These funds were made possible through the generous support of our community—vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees of the annual Cranbury Craft Show—who make educational excellence a shared priority.

With this investment, the CEF continues to empower Cranbury students with the tools and environments they need to dream bigger, think deeper, and build a brighter future. The STEAM Lab stands as a shining example of what our community can accomplish when we come together in support of education.
